I would like to make two points clear, First is that this not a war, and war needs two countries to go at each other. Secondly, this is no dispute and India has always tied to stay on and follow the Ahimsa (The path of peace and creating a mutual understanding) side. India also won Freedom in 1947 by the Ahimsa way.
As being an Indian I don’t get biased on one side and not look the other way around. As an Indian, I will always support India. But I will try my best to analyze on put down things in the correct direction so that this doesn’t look biased.
For the past two to three weeks the whole world is watching the India-China issue. There were brave soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the nation and just because the counterpart wants a piece a land because they think it is theirs and Just by asking impolitely India will give off that land.
We all know that China’s neighbors have faced this issue. All of China’s neighbors have adhered and faced and accepted China because China has a great military force. But when it comes to India we have other think again. India has stood its ground and is not willing to give away something that is rightfully India’s.
The recent clash off is the first clash between India and China since 1975. It has been peaceful between China and India for the past 45 years. What has happened between the nations and why now?. Both the Nations have faced casualties and this is not the right time for a clash.
China has not yet disclosed its causalities from the border clash, while India has come out and announced the martyring of 20 brave soldiers and several injured.
India – China: What happened?
It has been 20 days since the clash in Galwan valley. On June 18, 2020, twenty brave Indian Soldiers were martyred by China.
There has been causalities on both sides and China unwilling to disclose the causalities on their side. The Chinese believe that there is no necessity for “Stoking up the mood of the people”.
Chinese troops have camped in the Indian territory and when Indian officers had arranged a meeting with the superiors of Chinese troops and both agreed to terms. China should have moved back according to the terms and which they didn’t.
When the Indian Military went to remind the Chinese, that is when the face-off began. The Chinese troops pushed an Indian officer into the ice-cold water of river George.
This caused hundreds of soldiers from both sides to get into physical combat. No arsenal was due to a treaty that prohibits the usage of weapons on the LAC line. Hence many soldiers were beaten to death by bare hands and clubs and what not.
India – China: What are they fighting for?
There as always been confrontation between the military forces in the past for territorial space. Only when in the COVID pandemic crisis China started to claim for land which has not been theirs for the last fifty years.
A treaty was signed and Galwan was clearly made a territory of India in the past. Apart from the mutual understanding in the past and staying by their word for 50 years, all of a sudden disrespecting their own word and an opportunity for war has arisen.
LAC is expanded as Line of Actual Control which separates the Indian and Chinese habitable lands. LAC extends to 3488 Kms and even in this China has its own point of view.
Galwan valley is situated between the steep mountains where flows the river. The river sources from the river Aksai Chin that is on the LAC of China. The river flows east to Ladakh which meets the Shyok river on the Indian side of LAC.
Is China making a point
Maybe, they may be correct in their point of view but globally and respecting the decisions of previous events Galwan is and will always be in the Indian territory.
Most of China’s maps show that Galwan has been totally inside their territory which has been false for so many years. “Chinese maps that I have seen show almost all of the Galwan River as lying within the territory China claims in the area,” said M. Taylor Fravel.
China has been flexing their muscles to show its neighbors that they are the powerful nation in Asia and most probably in the world. I may be wrong but from the past 10 to years we can see china demanding land from all the nations around it whose population is not even 10% of theirs.
Leading a psychological warfare
While India is facing China on one side and Pakistan on the other side India is not doing good with ill-wishers around them. To make matters worse some Indians too make way to the opposer.
But India is coping with the situation extremely well and everyone in India hopes that they maintain a peaceful and friendly status among all the Nations in the world without compromising the virtue and values of Indians and Indian Land.
What now?
India has blacked out China from accessing the huge market in India and giving them no room for financial opportunity in India.
The Indian Government has made it clear that until the situation calms down and Chinese troops do what must be done, there will be no relaxations among them.
According to dnaindia China’s income from India is 5 Lakh crore and that is a huge amount of blockage for China.
Yes, we know that nearly 70% to 90% of the products that we use in our daily life are either manufactured in China or somehow China plays a role in it.
